The Kashmiriyat

Kashmir- The valley fof Tears

By Shibli Abdaal
During the 1989 uprising, Fatima frequented the houses of those martyred by the Indian troops. She sang songs for those who laid their lives in the fight. At 95, Fatima is unhappy. “My only dream is to see my Kashmir liberated,” she wraps up the conversation adding, “I’ve been betrayed.”

Lakhs Killed. Tens of thousands widowed. Thousands still seraching their fathers. The valleys crying for their beauty. The graveyards telling the deadly story of the martyrs. Even the sky here cries as it sees blood lying on every nook and corner of the once peaceful valley. And still you are seacrching paradise here. And You think Still we must not cry for freedom. Still we must not pelt stones...Is it so?????

Kashmir has been time and again fighting against the injustice. Whether it be 1931 or the Mou i Muqadas Uprising of 1963 or whether it be the famous or a so called intelligent kashmiri can say infamous movement of 1989..From tht time(1989) kashmiris were killed as if there was no cost of their lives. Shoot at Site Was the Law imposed in Kashmir. One can easily guess from the name what the law was. Even a law was imposed that no meat must be consumed in the muslim majority during the Janamastmi days. But thanks to a great leader who revolted against that. People didn't want any more deaths. So people used to part themselves from the freedom. But what happpened??? weren't we killed??
We were .. Definetly we were. but the differnce was that people had closed their eyes...............

Then we woke up.. Woke up in 2008 the valleys had been turned into graveyards, the flowers had lost their fragrance, the sky appeared to be Red, there were no sons who could die for their Mouj kasheer.
Yep.. they Did it the Youth again made the impossible a possiblity. They came on the Roads to offer their sacred Blood for preventing our mothers and sisters..
Nowadays, we can see it is a routine everyone is speaking against stone pelting some using the tool of Career, Some using the famous tool of Un-islamic, While others saying it converted the paradise into a hell. Are you searching paradise in a land where troopers rape women openly or you are trying to serach a paradise in a place where lacks have been killed brutally..
My intellects...It is no more paradise for we common people. Now if u consider it a pardise. Your enemies are not not stone pelting and freedom . Your enemies are Corruption, Drug addiction, Sex scandals, Wine shops. you have just became like our police. There are tousands of crimes in our society. They dont intend to control them. But if they see a Stone pelter. They dont even waiste a second arresting him.
Just Go to the stone pelters and ask them why they are pelting stones??????? i'm sure everyone will answer that some one very dear to him has been killed... we dont know....Yep...we start raising questions and it is easy too.For none can feel whats going on in their hearts.I a common kashmiri am scared what will be the future of my Mouj Kashmir....
Will it be the same kashmir Ishfaq Majeed dreamed " I want to see my kashmir free and our constitution will be the Holy Quran' or it willl be the Kashmir what Jagmohan said" Kashmir will be soon known as a place of Scandals" Please stop raising fingers towards stone pelters for they are bigger dreamers than us they are walking on an unwalked path...Paradise...ehehehehhehehe
